A few special issues and preferred stocks registered de clines ranging to 3 points. Columbia Bridge Bill Introduced Washington. Jan. 31 tin Rep. Lowell stockman, R Ore., Intro duced a bill today to authorize construction of a bridge across the Columbia river below McNary dam in Oregon. Stockman said that with com pletion of the dam a bridge would be necessary. 1 le predicted a great increase in business as well as i tourist activity in the area. He said such a bridge would be valu-1 able In maintaining trans-river transportation in the event of floods. Stockman said he had consid ered, but rejected, suggestions dint the bridge be built over the dam. Army engineers advised him that such a bridge would cost from $5,000,000 to $6,000,000.
