Lehich unl verslty dean of students, has drafted a method of self-analysis involving eight questions to be an swered by the prospective colleg er. All the queries relate to study Habits. "If you are deficient in some few of these study habits, you'd best get busy and do something constructive about them before entering college," the dean advis es, "unless you are willing to en ter with one or two strikes against you at the very begin ning." Problems Listed The questions compiled by conedon: ; 1. Can I write five consecutive paragraphs on a given topic and express myseir coherently, cor rectly and Intelligently? 2. Can-1 read an article In the Atlantic Monthly rapidly (400-500 words per minute) and compre hendingly, and retain the main arguments - lucidly in mind for three days? 3. Do I, know how to prepare successfully for examinations so that I don't become confused, pan icked and ineffectual when I face the necessity of taking a test or examination? 4. Can I listen to an address or lecture and note briefly the main points so that, when I've gone home, I can reconstruct the essential theme of what the lec turer said? 5. Can I go to the library and find quickly the reference and source books I need for prepar ing a paper, and take the neces sary notes effectively for writing an assignment of the topic? Can I make up a budget for daily use of my- time to meet all my necessary assignments, have a proper amount of time left for eating, sleeping and whole some recreation, and stick to that budget in spite of all the lures of the flesh and the devil? 7. When I have homework to do, can I settle down to it prompt ly and concentrate on my work at ' once without daydreaming and frittering away my time? . 8. Have I learned how to sys tematize? Thirteen members attended, also four guests, Mrs. John McComas, Mrs. Bill Greswold, Mrs. Ernest Hammock and Mrs. Henry Kaske. Project leaders for the day were Mrs. John Williams and Mm Verne Skelton. The group made pads to use lor pressing wool ana cotton clothing. A planned lunch eon was served at noon by the luncheon committee, Mrs. C. F. Sunklcr. Mrs. Cory Dixon and Mrs. Sherwood Nicholas. Seventeen men of the commu nity turned out last Saturday to spend the day cleaning up the Cloverdale school grounds and building. The women served a pot luck lunch at noon. Mrs. Jonn Williams and Mrs. Verne Skelton attended the Brooks-Scanlon home extension unit last week where they were In charge of the project, "Spotting and Pressing."
