H. Reeder, of Brigham, Utah, western regional director, at a luncheon meeting today noon in the Pine Tavern dining room. More than 70 people were pres ent, representing all parts of the state. ' Mrs: Reeder declared that wom en of the organization are the "cream of the earth":' that they are women w;io are thinking, and who have definite goals in mind. They are not only members of the American Farm Bureau federa tion, but are affiliated with the Associated Country women of the World, and as such, play, an important part, in wonting ior, in ternational peace, she said. Women Well Informed In farm homes, there is prob ably a greater degree of consulta tion, in family groups, about the issues of life and business, the speaker estimated. Farm women who are well informed on current issues are better able to enrich the family life and to represent their communities or other or ganizations, she said. Bowman and Coles To Attend Session ' Prineville, Nov. 10 R. A. Bow man and LaSelle Coles, Crook County leaders in reclamation de velopment, will leave with their wives by automobile Friday morning for Oklahoma City, Okla., to attend the annual meet ing of the National Reclamation association. Bowman for a num ber of years has headed activities aimed at securing construction of the crooked river reclamation and flood control project. Coles, Immediate past treasurer of the Oregon Reclamation congress, is manager of the ucnoco irrigation district. . Washington, Nov. 10 IP The agriculture department today boosted previous estimates of the l48 corn crop to a new record high or S3,B49,siu,oo busnels, . The figure was 81,555,000 bush els higher than the October fore cast of 3,567,955,000 bushels. The, estimate has been raised every month since July owing to almost perfect weather for growing and harvesting. The enormous corn crop has brought the total supply of all feed grains to a record-breaking figure that is expected to mean more and cheaper meat, milk ana eggs in 194U. Burglary Charge Uph( eld in Court Reginald L. Morgan;, 25, Los Angeles, was convicted on charg es of robbery yesterday, by a Des chutes county circuit Jury. Morgan was arrested between Hampton and Burns on May 7, after being charged witn robbing the Park Service station in Bend. F. O. Ralph Lowell Parker, 26, also of Los Angeles, was arrested at the same time. A steady decline had run from an Irregular opening to the last hour when a rise developed on good volume. This, however, fail ed to attract new buying and when trading lightened prices sagged from the recovery highs.
