gree murder warrant In connec
tion with the slaying of her hus
band. James Pirkle. 30. last Julv
25, Sheriff Charles W. Glenn said
today.
Mrs. PJrkle has been missing
since her husband was shot to
death alter a struggle with Will
lam G. Walker. San Bernardino.
Cal., early July 25. Mrs. Pirkle
was with Walker at the time of
the shooting, authorities alleged.
Walker, after beintr Indicted on
a first degree murder charge, was
acquitted by a circuit court Jury
on a reduced charge of second
aegree murder. .
Body Found
Pirkle's body was dumped in
the north canal of the Owyhee
canal syphon intake southwest of
Nyssa. The skull was shattered
by a gun shot. Sheriff Glenn, be
fore the trial, said Walker admit
ted shooting Pirkle with a 30-30
rifle, but that he did it in self
defense. Pirkle's car was found burning
at the Vale city dump more than
three weeks after the body was
found. ,

representatives from the western
states. Some 500 persons were
present for the meetings, held at

city.

GRANDMA SEEKS RECORD

Arthur A. Warner, Morton,
Wash., whose daughter, Mrs. Jac

In Student Play
Twenty-one high school stu
dents have been assigned parts in
the student body play, "A Date
With Judy," to be presented No
vember 18 and 19 at the high
school gymnasium. The three-act
comedy, written by Aleen Leslie,
is being directed by Miss Grace
Mary Linn.
Different casts will be present
ed on the two nights, Miss Linn
explained, as a double cast was
chosen for nine of the parts. The

Couple in Quarrel

PRA to Call Bids
On Agency Route
Portland: Ore., Oct. 14 u The
U. S. public roads administration
will open bids here Oct. 28 for
completion of the Warm Springs
highway, opening a route from
Portland to central and eastern
Oregon, it was announced today
by w, m. Lyncn, division engi
neer.
The bids will be fbr surfacing
and oiling the last gap in the 30
mile section which was begun in
1936. , ,

Plans were made for Improve
ment of the Juvenile room, and It
was decided to have a get-together
of grangers and friends of Bob
Ledbetter October 21 at the Led
better ranch to harvest his field
of potatoes. He Is a hospital pa
tient. A program was presented un

Fleck, lecturer. A roll call of
members' Halloween pranks was
a feature. Lunch was served at
the close of the evening.

Gloria Hutchins Named .
