Trips Are Planned For Members of Eastern Star At their meeting Monday eve ning at the Masonic temple, East ern Star members made plans for attending a district meeting Thursday, September 23, In Prine villp. The occasion will be the of ficial visit of -the worthy grand matron, Mrs. lima Thum, of Cot tage Grove. The Bend group will leave Bend by special bus at 6:30 p.m. next Thursday, to return about midnight. Any chapter member may make reservations for the trip by calling Mrs. James A. Powning-Huffman Vows Exchanged At Salem Rite Northwest Redmond, Sept. 16 (Special) Miss Joyce Huffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Huffman, of Aumsville, and Stan ley C. Pownlng, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Powning, of Bend, said their marriage vows Monday at 3:30 p.m. in south Salem. Rev. D. L. Penhollow, pastor of the Pow ell Butte community Christian church, read the ceremony in the lovely garden of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Hlgglnbotham's country home. The bride wore white marqui sette and carried a prayer book with an orchid. In her hair was a band of "stephanotls.
