Cake and ice cream were serv ed and motion pictures were tak en, l he motion pictures were shown that were taken at Greg ory's birthday party a year ago, at which all the young guests were present. , I Grange Juveniles Serve Refreshments at Meeting Southwest Redmond, Aug. 19 (Special) Juveniles of the Red mond grange served the refresh ments Friday evening following th grange business meeting. A program honoring Ceres, arrang ed by Mrs. B. L. Fleck, was pre sented. Grange members will meet at the hall this evening to prepare grasses and grains for the coun ty fair. The next regular meet ing, which would occur the week end of the fair, has been can celled. BIRTHDAY PARTY GIVEN Six Comers, Aug. 19 ( Special , Viola and Fred Marchand were honored at a birthday party re cently at the home of their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Marchand. The 30 children present spent the afternoon playing, games. Re freshments were served by Mrs. Marchand. Sunshin? club will moot Tues day at 8 1 p.m. at the home of IMrs. CeoiH Hollingshead. Mr3. Marion Dubois will be assistant hostess. BJngo will be played, following a', short business meeting. The young couple are now at home on their ranch east of Culver. Couple to Exchange Vows At Presbyterian Church Wedding rites for Miss June Adele Humphrey and Robert Hor ner will be read Sunday at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian church. Rev. Allen 13. Philp will officiate. Miss Humphrey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Humphrey, 1385 Newport, and Horner is the son of Mrs. Clara E. Hibbard, of Wamic, and Irv ing B. Horner, of Idaho Falls, Ida. Following the ceremony, a re ception will be held at the home ot the brides parents. Mipah class of the First Chris tian church will meet this eve ning at 8 at the home of Mrs. Hugh Fountain, Carroll Acres, instead of with Mrs. Joy Smith, as previously announced. Fox-Jensen Rites Read In Astoria Miss So!veii Jensen and P.ohert H. Fox, Jr., son of R. H. Fox. Sr., Bend, were married Aug. 5 at 8 p.m. at the homl of itho bride's brother, Harold L. Jensen, in Astoria. The candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. L. J. Kutz in the presence of a few friends and relatives. Baskets of white gladioli were placed by the fire place and greens and candelubrns were arranneil on the mantle piece. The bride, given" in marriage by her brother, Harold Jensen, wore a white gabardine suit with a eor sage of orchids. Mrs. Jane Lovelace, Portland, was matron of honor for her sis ter. She wore a dark print dress and a corsage of red roses and white houvardia. Cus Roats, Bend, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man. At the reception which follow ed, Mrs. Roats, sister of the bride groom, cut the cakm Mrs. M. T. Goddard, sister'of the bride, pour ed and Miss Suzanne Jensen, the brides niece, passed the guest book. After a two-weeks' wedding trip to Victoria and other Canadian points, Mr. and Mis. Fox will be at home at 155 Irving avenue in Bend. Those from Bend who attended the wedding were R. H. Fox, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Gus Roats, and Mr. and Mrs. Anton Fossen. Among ihe other guests were Miss Bar bara Fossen, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jen sen, Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Goddard and Mr. and Mrs- W. W. Lovelace, all of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Jensen, Culver Cily, and James Durant, Amity. Eagles auxiliary will meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Eagles hall to sew for needy children. A pot luck luncheon will be served at noon. She was also regional represen tative and one of the escorts for Miss W. B. A., queen of the festival. Cars will leave Bend at 11 a.m. Miss Barber I Becomes Bride Of C.Clemens Culver, Aug. 19 (Special) Miss Mary Elizabeth Barber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Barber, be came the bride of Charles Clem ens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clemens, of Eugene, on Aug. 14. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. IX L. Penhollow on the lawn at the home of the bride's parents with a background of flowers and large bouquets of pink and white gladioli. Mi's. Wayne Osborn sang "I Love You Truly" and Rev. Pen hollow sang "Oh, Promise Me." They were accompanied by Har old Entrikin, who also played the traditional wedding music. The bride, given In marrlage by her father, wore a pearli-eolorecl satin and net gown. She carried a white prayer book with a bou quet of orchids and white rose buds. Linda King was flower girl and Mikey Penhollow was ring bear er. There were no other attend ants. Punch and cake were served at the reception at the Barber .home which followed the ceremony. For the wedding trip to eastern Oregon, the bride chose a white wool suit, with brown accessories. Mrs. Clemens is a graduate of the University of Oregon In the class of J947 and Clemens was graduated from the university in 1948. The bridegroom served us a captain In the United States army for five years during world war two. Miss Conklin Lectures On Self-Improvement Miss Ruth Ann Conklin, Pow ers model, lectured on self-Improvement and modeling at the regular meeting of the Young Mothers Study club Monday eve ning at the home of Mrs. William White.
