The former bombardier with Lt. Gen. Jimmy Doodllttle's raid ers vowed to return to Japan in the cloth of the clergy while he was in solitary confinement. "It was after I talked with God," he explained when he re turned to the United States at the war's end, "that I decided to be come a missionary. It was just as If He were in my cell and sitting beside me. He was talk lng to me in plain, understand able language." Working in Ohio DeShazer and his wife, Flor ence, were graduated from Seattle-Pacific college recently. They will be Free Methodist missionar ies. With their baby son, Paul, they will leave for Japan in No vember. Meanwhile, DeShazer is in Ohio, conducting a series of church meetings for the Bible Mediation league.. DeShazer said he hated the Japanese when he 'flew in the Doolittle raid. "I don't hate them anymore . . , God has given me new spiritual eyes," he said. When DeShazer returned to the United States, he told his mother: "I want to serve my Lord. The Japanese didn't understand.
