Fire of unknown origin de
stroyed the Meadows senior high
school building here early today
with loss set at $850,000.
Firemen said the blaze appar
ently had started about 5 a.m.
and had gained considerable
headway before discovery.
Dr. Paul Galser, school super
intendent, said painters had been
working on the building and that
chemicals they were using might
have exploded.
The 30-classroom structure was
owned by the federal government
and was valued at $750,000. Val.

mated at $100,000.
