Steels held better than others, reflecting retention of a high op erating rate this week. Steel oper ations are scheduled at 96.3 per cent of capacity, a dip of 0.7 point from last week's rate- which in turn was only l-10th from the post-war high. Motors eased fractions. Ralls had losses ranging to a point in Santa Fe. Oils lost fractions. Al lied Chemical had a loss of more than a point. Du Pont was off 2 on one sale. Utilities were mixed with some preferred Issues off more than a point. Several prefer red issues ost 1. A few gained.
