Railroad issues featured as a group in volume and in strength. Late ih the day; the airlines swung into line on outlook tor increased business. Distilling com pany stocks rose as much as 3 points in Schenley on outlook for an early resumption of beverage alcohol distillation. Douglas with a gain of more than 2 points led the aircrafts higher! Buying spread to the steels i where Bethlehem issues made new highs and U: S. Steel rose nearly a point.
