LRailroad Shares
Lead on Market

New York, April 11 (IP) Stocks
extended yesterday's last hour
rise today by fractions to more
than points with the railroad and
automobile sections again lead
ing. Trading increased substantial
ly over yesterday's early pace and
volume crossed the million-share
mark for' the first time .since
March 27.
Activity centered on the mo
tors, notably the low-priced issues
where Hudson, Graham-Paige,
Studebaker, Willy-Overland and
Nash-Kelvinator had large turn
over. Their price changes' were
small but the higher priced mo
lars had gains of more than a
point in Chrysler and General
Motors.
Rails scored the best gains.
Norfolk & Western rose 4 points
and gains of a point to more than
2 points were noted in Santa Fe,
Nickel Plate, and Pere Marquette.
New York Central had large vol
ume. ,
Utilities were strong and active
with heaviest trading centerinc
on American Water Works and
Electric Power & Light. .

citations and a pot-luck luncheon
at noon. The cantata was given

byterian church, followed by a
sermon by Rev. Robert Nicholas.
The church and stage were dec
orated for the occasion, a large
cross being erected on the stage,

were in evidence.
