Fla., a primary training field for
future combat pilots, Aviation
Cadet Claude V. Gibson is under
going his training. His wife, Mrs.
M. Ellen Gibson, is residing at
1631 E. J8th St. in Bend.

the air fighters of world war I,
Carlstrom Field is. doing a flpe
job of training the pilots of to
day, officers point out. - In the
past three and one half years, this
field has logged 500,000 flying
hours with more than 45,000 miles
and with only one fatality. Carl

Cadet Gibson, a graduate of
Owsley county high school, is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Gibson of Eversole, Kentucky. Be
fore enlisting in the service, he
was employed by civil service at
Patterson Field, Ohio. Cadet Gib
son has served & momns over
seas in the European theater of
war, winning several distin
guished honors, among them the
air medal witn one oaK teat clus
ter, presidential unit citation, and
European theater ribbon. He was
appointed to cadet training at
Keesler Field, Missr;and'-latr;
transferred to the Embry-Riddle,
school in Arcadia. '
