Numerous issues made new highs for the year or longer, in- eluding Hudson Motors, and is sues of Fere Marquette, Nickel Plate, and Western Pacific. Util ities moved narrowly in the com mon stocks while preferred reg istered wide gains in several in stances. Airlines firmed under the lead ership of American which gained nearly a point, standard brands rose a point in its section. Best rose more than a point in the mercantiles. Tires were up small amounts. . Activity centered on special stocks, including Missouri Kansas Texas railway, International Tel ephone, Commonwealth and Sou thern, and Packard. National Park 'Buffalo To Start Tapering Off Washington ux Secretary of Interior Harold L. Ickes' buffalo soon will have to stop eating off the government. In a reoprt submitted to Ickes by the national park service. Di rector Newton B. Drury said his plans were to "taper off feeding hay to these animals and place thorn entirely on their.; own re-; sources." ."
