Bible Teaching
Luncheon Topic
"Bible Teaching In the Public
Schools" was the topic of Rev.
Kenneth Tobias at toduy's meeting
of the Bend Lions club In the Pine
Tavern, with Glenn Gregg, presi
dent, in charge. Rev. Tobias told
how the Bible teaching plan has
worked In the Eugene schools for
the past several years. In the first
year, 84 per cent of the Eugene
pupils received training, with the
consent of their parents, and to
day over 99 per cent of r'lnlln be
tween the third and six grades are
enrolled, Rev. Tobias said.
The Bend school board has
agreed to make way for one hour
of Bible teaching each week. Costs
are not to be borne by the schools,
but by those Interested, Rev. To
bias explained.
