local gymnasium on the ntRht of
March 29 took time out today to look
hver the talent lined up by Match
maker Harold Kline and aicreed that
the card should prove a Central Ore
Ron attraction. Doors are to open at
7 o'clock and action will start
promptly at 8 o'clock.
The fights will be streamlined af
fairs, if plans outlined by Kline are
carried out. Thirty-aix rounds of
boxing have been lined up. but the
sponsoring veterans predict that a
number of the fights will not go the
scheduled limits.
The benefit card will bring back to
the local ring Flash Jordon. a hard
fiflhter from Corvallis, and Dave
Morse. 140 pound battler from
Prineville. Jordon. popular with local
fans, has never Inst a decision in the
local ring. In the second part of the
rknible main event. Bob Chambers,
131 pounds. Bend, will tangle with
Earl Downey, 151 pounder from Red
and. The double main events will
be eight round fights.

William Edward Rue died Saturday
afternoon at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. J. O- HnM.. where he had
been for several yenn. Mr. Boie was
fcom at Hobttein. Wis., and was a
contractor who, with Ins brother.
Henry B. Bote, helped build the Ore
gon Trunk railroad through here. He
was 77 vears old and is survived by
a daughter, Mrs. Helen Hunsen of
Portland; a son. Edward Bote, of
Portland; a brother. J .hn Boie, of
Wisctnsin; a sister. Mrs. Albert Arks,
of Denver, Colo., and two grand
children. Funeral services were held
from the Redmond community
church Tuesday morning. C H. Irvin
had charge of arrangements.
Miss Bessie Dexter, who teaches at
Held. Ore., 'pent the week-end with
Miss lrma Klinghammer.
Hoy nilhams and Bob Inks were
given the first degree at the Odd
Fellows lodge Thursday evening.
Third and fourth year 4-n cooking
classes met Friday afternoon at the
gymnasium with their leader, Mrs.
Harel McCoin. The pledge was given
and old and new business taken
care of. Geraldine LaFbllette is presi
dent of the club.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Eaton and
children drove to Salem Saturday
where their son. Willie, remained
while they went to Oakville, Wash.
At Oakville they attended a dinner
honoring Eaton's father on his 82nd
birthday anniversary. They returned
by Castle Rock where they visited
Mrs. Eaton's mother and sister.
Guests at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Andy Bodtker Sunday were Mr.
and Mrs. Newell Van Tassel, Mr. and
Mrs. Claude Butler, of Lone Pine,
and Rastmus Petersen and Mrs.
Minnie Burson, of Pleasant Ridge.
A spring vacation will be given
pupils and teachers from March 21
until Tuesday over Easter Sunday.
