forestalled foreclosure of a $14,000 mortgage on his farm near Grand
Meadows, Minn, through a plea by a committee of the Minnesota

wnt to Des Moines, Iowa, and effected a compromise with the mortgage
holdor through the joint stock land bank th.sre. The compromise, it
was reported, wiU allow Hoover to stay on his farm as a renter. Ac
