How to Keep Cool
With millions to spend on
luxury, the princes of India
found no better way to keep
the air cool, and to ward
off gnats and flies, than the
creaking, feeble "punkah"
pulled by hand.
You can have a much
better breeze for a tiny
fraction of the cost. You
can get a General Electric
fan for a few dollars and
you can keep it running
all day for 5 cents.
