S. navy recruiting station 'ji here, left last night to report for ' jj duty at the navy yard at Bremerton, H where he will be assigned to a ship jj making a foreign cruise next sum--:! mer. !! He was accompanied by his wife j jj and son, who will make their home . :j: at Bremerton until he receives his discharge from the service, after which they will return to Bend, where they will reside. Mr. Smith was stationed here for over a year, establishing an excellent record for enlistments. The Bend station showed the greatest number of enlistments of any of the inland headquarters of tha Northwest dis trict It was the last one in this classification to be closed. Smith has bought a chicken ranch a mile south of Bend and will engage in the poultry business when be re turns from the service.
