FRESH OUTLOOK IS HELD BY SUFFRAGE English WrMor Comments on DlnVr- ence Botwoen American Women's Party Anil British. RAY CHAPMAN KILLED BY PITCHED BALL (Br United Pronn to Tha Bnd Bulletin) WASHINGTON. D. C. Sept. IS. An EngliHhmari, a writer of somo con seauence. happened Into Washing ton the other day while the air was full of the- jubilation of suffragists over ratification ot the 19th amend wont. ' "I'd liko to see what manner ot women these American suffragists ore," said this Englishman. "I've evolved a rather Interesting psycho logical theory as a result of my ob servation ot our English suffragists. I wonder it your American ones would bear it outf" ' So he was taken to the headquar ters of the national woman's party here and presented to Miss Alice Paul, chairman ot that party. "Your American suffragists, who have had as rough a tight of it. In its way, as their English sisters, im pressed me as quite different, in some respects," he said afterward "It I go making comparisons, I'll get Into no end of a row, of course, but I'm tempted to chance it by just one . observation. That Is, that you Amer ican suffragists, take them by and large, are a deal younger I mean In their outlook and their virility, and well, thoyre younger, somehow, and a very refreshing set of young persons." IDAHO FOOTBALL SEASON STARTING Heavy Schedule, Including Early . Season Contests With Forml da able Opponents, Is Faced. (Br United Prau to The Bead Bulletin) MOSCOW, Idaho, Sept. 13. Can didates for the 1920 football team at the University of Idaho will re port to Coach Thomas Kelley for their initial workout this afternoon. Faced with a heavy schedule which Includes early-season con tests with opponents more than for midable, Kelley will be required to drive his men hard between now and October 15, the date of Idaho's fray with Washington State college. It is expected that 10 letter men will report for practice before the week is over. A squad at least 50 per cent larger thau the turn-out last year is promised. Coach Kelley is rather non-com-mital regarding the varsity's pros pects. "We are up against a difficult sit uation," said the mentor, "because we lack experienced line material. The backfield timber looks fairly good at this distance, and we may be able to develop a few powerful and aggressive linemen who can bul wark our defense. I feel neither op timistic nor particularly gloomy." Ray Chapman ot the Cleveland Indlans, was fatally injured while ;at the plate, being struck In the head by a pitched ball. The ac cident happened while playing the New York Yankees at Polo grounds and comes as great hock to the baseball world. Peculiar Affliction, Bernlce was out playing when borse fell. She came In the honsc much excited and said: "Oh, pa; a horse fell down and can't get tip. Htt leg's unconscious." - Automobile supplies and Diamond tires at Buchwalter's. Adv.
