Why the greatest
writers really write
the greatest stories
REALLY great writers, the only writers whose novels and stories
. are worth while, give us the result of their powers of observa
tion, and their talent for self-expression, through the medium of fiction,
with a real background- a real purpose. That is the kind of novels
and stories in this month's Cosmopolitan. We give you a glimpse of
a few of them here

Forsyte's theory that a wife is part of a man's
property.
Fannie Hurst
in her first novel tells about a girl who con
tracted a loveless marriage to please hor pur
ents and how she attempted to nolv..- her own
problem of self-determination. Begin 'Star
Dust" today.
Peter B. Kyne
who was born and raised in the great North
west, tells, in "Kindred of the Dust," his latest
novel, a fine, romantic story of the people who
live and love there. His novel is a tale of the
passion of youthful hearts.
Rupert Hughes
whimsically portrays the harrowed fwlings
of a girl who thought her fiance unfaithful.
Of course he was innocent. But it wasn't'
until they saw "The Animal that Laughs,"
that all was forgiven.
