Now that permanent organization of the American Legion is completed here it la to be hoped that every man eligible to membership will join and take an active part. The Legion has a big future and should mean more to the United States than any other organization now existing. With a membership made up large ly of young men, It will have, and hold to, high ideals. They are a picked lot, trained in service and with an eager love of country. Like most young men, they feel that there are injustices to be corrected in our national life. They see something bigger than petty politics in public service, and they will make them selves felt. To have a share in the work should be the desire of every man who can. The trouble with Burleson is that he has turned the whole postofflce department into a dead letter office. We move that bis resignation be accepted. Reports of the debate on prohibi tion legislation are rather dry reading. Plenty of Choice. START ON TARGETS Boches Xo Longer Available and Sharpshooters Enter in Com petition on Range. (By United Press to The Bend Bulletin.) BISLEY CAMP, England, July9. After four years of Boche shooting. Britain's crack riflemen resumed their annual war'are against me chanical targets today, when the Na tional Rifle association's competition re-opened here. The famous Bisley meeting is international in character and normally attracts the world's best rifle and revolver shots, although most of the events are monopolized by army teams. This year demobilization progress considerably affected the entries, many of the eligible riflemen being frankly "fed up" with shooting, and finding target practice unexciting after the real thing. Nevertheless most of the British and colonial champions were present when the qualifying rounds were shot off. Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, South African, Ceylon and Malay States teams competed with the pick of the mother country, there being keen rivalry for the Echo shield, for teams, and the Icing's prize for indi vidual riflemen. 5 Pound Can, 1 Pound Free 3 Pound Can, 2 Pound Free 1 Pound Can, i Pound Free At the Regular Price.
