, Geraldine Farrur, the famous
singer, who long has been a favorite
in motion picture, will be seen at
the Liberty theatre tonight only in
a superb production by Cecil B. De
Mllle of "Carmen," the immortal
story by Prosper Merimee. In sev
eral Interviews published subsequent
to her appearance in this photoplay,
Miss Farrar announced that she re
garded this as one of her best and
strongest portrayals.
Various scenes In, this splendid
photoplay, chief among which are
the fight of Carmen In the cigarette
factory, one of the most desperate
ever picturized in which women took
port, the duel in the Inn between two
officers, who love Carmen, its fatal
ending and her mockery of the man
w:ho had fought In her behalf, the
procession to the bull ring, where
Don Joso slays Carmen in revenge
for her hcartlessness toward him, ull
combine to make this picture one of
the moct notable ever presented to
