Miss Murray, who will be seen at Own Species Tomorrow, for First Time In Three Years. Two lonely Chinese pheasant roost ers who have lived lives of solitude Tor the last three years, will enjoy the companionship of others of their species, when two crates of the game irds are. unloaded at the Overturf and the Bragg ranches near the Grange hall. Four crates came in today, the other two going to C. H. Erickson, at Bear Creek, and to the Forbes ranch, near Pilot Butte.. The two male birds were left alone by the death of the others of a ship ment sent out three years ago. Applications for two more crates are on file, one from E. L. Clark, of T Pine, and one from Allen Willcox on, of Powell Butte. Several more crates may be had by ranchers who are willing to take care of the birds and see to it that the pheasants have "proper surroundings for rapid propagation. The very sight of them impressed me In a way I shall never forget, and it must be a rather hardened person who would not be impressed as I was. "I talked with a woman there in the night court who told me she had been in jail so many times she had lost count. She said she always made it a point to do something so she could be sent to jail for the winter, as it was nice and, warm there, and so sociable but you can believe me, I will never select one of them for my winter home." The tenth episode of the serial, "Liberty" also comes on these nights. The title for this week is "The Hu man Targets," and shows some very thrilling scenes of the Mexicans shooting at American aeroplanes. Grand Theatre. The scenes of Russia in the Vita' graph de luxe edition of "My Official Wife," starring Clara Kimball Young, Earle Williams and Harry Morey, which la the attraction at the Grand Theatre Saturday night and Sunday matinee, are authentic to the minut est detail. The views of the peasant house lend no small amont of atmosphere with 'their great earthen ovens and upper beds of straw. As a general rule the furnishings are very sparse, consisting very often of a rough wooden table, a long bench and one leather whips, driving the subjects like cattle to the fold. Now and then some weaker member of the party will fall by the way and when a loved one stops to aid him he Is beaten Into submission and forced to con tinue on his journey, leaving the other to die of cold or starvation. Other views show the border of Russia and give ono some idea of the difficulty an undesirable person would experience in making his way into the country. The passports are carefully examined by the guards who stop the progress of any sus picious character until proof of his mission within the boundaries of the land may be obtained. All these scenes give the desired realism and atmosphere to the pro duction and form fitting background for the artistic acting of the principals. poll SAI.K A real bargain for a good all around service car.
