Ily II. C. Hamilton, (UBlud Prew BUff ColTMPondrnt.) NEW YORK, July 13. The pacif ist heavyweight champion, Jess Wlll ard, probably la through with the fight game. Never a lover of the game which brought him fame and fortune, Wlllnrd has purchased a cir cus, fired his managers; and- now, presumably, Is ready to call It off. " Thero Is 'nothing startling in a prediction that Wlllard la through. He could hurdly afford, to risk public censure through taking on some of the leaser heavyweights; and of tbe few men available, there Isn't a man who wouldn't be able to give Jess the fight of his life. The action of tho champion In get ting rid of Tom' Jones and Jack Cur ley Is commendable In a sort ofway, for It eliminates the syndicate which put the world's champion In a circus Instead of sending him out to fight which was expected of him by a pub lic grateful for Wlllard's success in bringing back the world's title to the white rnce. Wlllurd.has declared there Isn't a man of sufficient ability to meet him. However, he said this before Fred Fulton succeeded In knocking out Sum l.angford something no other man ever could do. Wlllard long ago adopted a policy of no fights with the colored men breaking the rule only onco In order to win the world's title from Jack Johnson. It Is doubtful. Just the same, If his best days would FRESH DAIRY BUTTER that is clean, sweet anJ freh, is tbe kind w bare, anJ it is full weight too. Ask for it. GOOSEBERRIES make mighty good pies and we bava all tbe sentials-espscislly tbs GOOSEBERRIES F. Dement & Co. . "Tbe Preferred Slock Store" At the Movies j i i have done him any good in a bout with the Hoston Tarbuby, rcgurdless of the great differences In their sizes. H Wlllard yearns for a few more thousund dollars and a chance to re tire gracefully from the fight game for all time, the chance Is jUHt beg ging for lilin. Fred Fulton looms as his most formidable rival. Several promoters are eager to stage the bout. Tho public would go wild over a SO round go between the pair. And there Is no valid reason for holding It off. Wlllard would confer a favor by agreeing to fight. ALUMINUM DEMAND BECOMES GREATER (Br United PrM to lh Bnd Bulletin) CHICAGO. July 13. Tbe United States will require 50,000 tons of aluminum a year for aeroplane and motor vehicle construction to carry on the war against Germany, accord ing to Dr. F. K. Weber, of Chicago, a chemist and experimental Investi gator. This amount of aluminum, Weber says, cannot be obtained from baux ite, its present source. We must use kaolin, or fireclay, which the Ger mans have been using since their source of French Bauxite has been cut off. Weber says this country's supply of kaolin is practically Inex haustible. Tbe largest deposits are In Illinois. Weber has submitted his theory to the Society of Industrial Engineers which In turn will take it up with the Council ot National Defense.
