diseases, many of the houses are
abortion mills, where a baby will be
"disposed of" for $25 to 150, the in
vestigators found. Babies are said
to be carried out for burial in suit
cases.
"About one-fourth of the babies
are illegitimate," said Arthur . A.
Guild, officer of the Juvenile Pro
tective association. "In many cases
the children come from homes where
the father or "mother has deserted
the family. And there are few. In
stances where a family Is able to take
care of the baby, but does not want
it around."
