liiiln liToiuitahucL T:iii Election. We regret our InnbilUy to jmbliab in luil this weik tbe oHUial election tetiiros of Boise county. The law requires the returns to bo opened by (be Clerk of tbe Hoard of Commissioners within tea days, or eooner if all the returns are made before tbe expiration of that time. At the time of writ inn the; have all been filtd with one eiccp. tion. The delay in the Grimes' Creek pre cinct (above Pioneer) preveuts the publication of the precinct return (his week. Enough is known, however, of the result to insure tbe success of the demooratio nominees by a ma- r.ty of little over 600. Messrs. Dooley and Meeley ran ahead of their tickets at Liu en a. Vista, Idaho and Piacerville, ami Goldlrup at Centerville. Idaho city gives 400 Democratic majority, Ceulreville about 34, Pioneer city 120, Toll Gate 32, Granite Creek 20, Piue Grove CO. PUcervillweut republican by 15, linena Vista 3tl, Warm Springs 6, Horse Shoe Bend 7. Tbe democratic m iijuriiy would have been increased by fully 100 voles had the poles continued opened until ' sundown, as many working in the creek claims supposed, and actio,; accordingly, arrived at the polls too late to vote. The majority on tho total vote cast is larger this year that at the hist election. Alturas gives t democratic major ity of about 2u0, Ada about 200, and Owybee 110 mpjjrity. Tbe returns insure the domo- cracy two-thirds of both houses of the Legis lature, Uneida U tliu ouly county in south ern Idaho to bear from. The Northern coun tics will prabably increase tbe legislative ma jority. the vote in that section will be light. tduho World. " Injustice to a Worthy Physicuh. On the 14th of this month, Dr. A. J. Mullan, of Walla Walla, was employed by the command ing officer at Fort Walla Walla, as physician to that post, in pursuance of an order, dated Fort Vancouver, August 9th, directing the employment of a .suitable physician to sup ply tbe vacancy caused by Dr. Steinbcrgcr's being ordered to Vancouver. Dr. Mullan entered promptly upon bis duties at the post On Tuesday last, n Mr. Quiver, who has been in Weatherford's Drug- Store, in Portland and who, it is said, acknowledges that be is not a graduate of any medical college, was employed and Dr. Mullan discharged. It seems, however, that Col. Curry, at Vancou ver, could not bave possibly known that Dr. M. bad been ,already employed, when this Mr. Quiver left Vancouver on Lhb way up to Walla Walla. So tho matter stands. We are personally acquainted with Dr. Mullan, .and know him to bo a gentleman of high At tainments, and a physician of the first re spect -biHty. We shall be glad to hear that tho Medical Department tat Vancouver bos inquired into this matter. IMPORTER AND JOBDER OF "Wines Sc I-.iqiiors9 FRONT STREET, Portland, - - Oregon.
