WASHINGTON WAGON ROAD

Portland to the Cascades.
rmhe undersigned would respectfully Inform the
traveling puDllc tnat the above named wagon Knott
Is now in traveling order for light loaded wagons, from the
mouth ol SANDY to CASCADES. Persons wishing to
travel from Portland to the Dalles, will And Itto theirad
vantage to cross the Columbls Hiver at the month of San
dy and haul thoir wagons over this Rood to the Cascades.
ae It will savo the price of freight on the lowor steamboat,
and alsa over the Cascades railroad. There is asood trail
from the Cascades to the Dalles for loose stock, crossing
the river back again near Little White Salmon. Ferries
are now kept at both these crossings. From and after the
loth of February next, the undersigned will keep the
above Ferries In connection with the Road, and will pass
the travel through as cheap ae any other route. There
being better grans, lass rocks, and generally a better Road
on this route, I flatter myself that I will receive a liberal
patronage from Drover and Packers. In addition to the
O. 8. N. Co.'s steamers, the steamer Cetifo is running from
the Cascades to the Dalles, and will carry wagon cheap.
