LA GRANDE — The BlueMountaineers
monthly dance is set for Saturday,
Aug. 27, 6-9 p.m. at the La Grande Senior
Center, 1504 N. Albany St.
Admission is $5, or free for ages 12
and younger. The evening features a
fi nger food potluck.
PILOT ROCK — The Pilot Rock Down-
town Association is coordinating the
Harvest Festival on Saturday, Aug. 27. The
event also features citywide yard sales,
starting at 8 a.m.
The day gets off to a sizzling start with
the Fireman’s Breakfast, 6-10 a.m. at the
Pilot Rock Fire Station. Several downtown
activities begin at 10 a.m., including ven-
dor booths, kids activities (bring your own
stick horse for races) and a cornhole tour-
nament ($10 fee; to register, call Shannon
at 541-379-1575). The Johnathin Hascall
Memorial Run also starts at 10 a.m. at the
Hoeft’s place on Yellow Jacket Road.
Get revved up for the car show at 11
a.m. A beer garden opens at noon at The
Vault and closes closes at midnight.
Afternoon activities include The Great
Duck Race (3 p.m.), Barn Yard Bingo
(4 p.m.) and the Rocket Run/Walk, a bene-
fi t for Ronan Doherty ($20 entry fee). And
the parade gets rolling at 7 p.m.
