HOROSCOPES BY HOLIDAY MATHIS
FRIDAY, AUGUST 26, 2022 Busting Out of the Box
The cosmic squares warn against keeping too much of
your life in your own head. When your only outlet for
a thought is in your own mind, a healthy perspective
is hard to achieve. Seeing things properly requires
the space to zoom in and out. You don’t have that kind
of space in your own mind. Sharing is essential to
productive thinking.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). When things seem
much harder than they should be, you take notice and
start asking questions. What would be easier? Who can
I learn from? Who’s doing it better? What adjustments
can be made?
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You’ve decided it’s
wise to stay a little on guard but can’t say what you
want to say while trying to mitigate the risk of getting
hurt. If you knew it was impossible to protect yourself
from truth and pain, then how would you go about it?
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). The boundaries around
the relationship are what make it a home. Hopefully
the boundaries inside the relationship allow each their
own space. In love and other shelters, the walls are as
important as the foundation.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). There are many reasons
you’ll feel the need to get moving, the least of which
is to burn calories. You’ll think better when you’re in
motion. Exercise can be anything you want it to be.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You’re feeling less
ambitious, but oddly you’ll be happier because of this.
While big wins and lofty goals are amazing to hit, the
day-to-day stress has a way of wearing on you. One
small goal at a time will feel really good right now.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). When the pond is
muddy, you can’t clear the water by stirring it. To put
everything back in order, do nothing. Inaction brings
clarity. Wait for things to settle, then you’ll understand
what you’re really dealing with.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). There are things about
your life you can’t change right now. You’ll be able to
do something about them later. While you wait for the
opportunity to take back control, think about the other
things you’re currently empowered to affect.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). There’s an emotional
link between something happening today and something
that happened long ago. The connection occurs deep in
your being, yet it will shape your behavior in subtle and
obvious ways.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You’ll be
surrounded by strong personalities who want to tell
you what to do, but you’re the one most qualified to
call the shots right now. Make decisions for yourself.
Your purposefulness will attract trust, love and money.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You want to know
more about a particular subject, and teachers show up
to light the way. They will give you the key to treasures
that would remain inaccessible to the incurious.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You’ll get the
overwhelming feeling that things are happening in the
best way possible to serve your interests. Your senses
are tuned to find the path of least resistance, so you
don’t have to think about it; like water you’ll flow to it.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). There are a lot of
things you could do to help out, but it will be most
satisfying to do something you’re great at. Your highest
point of contribution will involve your uniqueness and
be enjoyable for you to give.
TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 26). Happiness can
come in drastically different forms, like the shape of
work or the contour of a loved one’s face. You’re open
to a wide variety of forms and will experience many
throughout the course of the year. You’ll be entrusted
with a mission or key information. You’ll be paid well
for your integrity. Taurus and Gemini adore you. Your
lucky numbers are: 7, 24, 21, 11 and 5.

The new moon in Virgo invites us to organize our
priorities into categories. Heavy aspects involving
Venus, Uranus, the sun and Mars bring stark realism
on the matter of what we want and are willing to create
for ourselves. Projects that matter can be started in
the messiest of circumstances, so don’t wait for all the
conditions of life to be perfect.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Education doesn’t
happen overnight. It may feel like you’ll never learn
enough to do a job easily, or that you just can’t satisfy
your curiosity. But finding out where the holes in your
knowledge are is essential to filling them in.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Instead of waiting
around to be invited, assigned or permitted, you’ll
just make the move. It’s risky, and not always the most
effective way to go about things, but it will work great
for you today.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). A clash of personalities
may have you feeling edgy and out of sorts. As
inconvenient and uncomfortable as this may be,
there are benefits to the relationship that are not yet
apparent. Your soul is evolving through these lessons.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). You will choose
colleagues for their ability, honesty and loyalty. But
when it comes to friendship, you’ll go for the ones
who make you laugh and feel. You’ll let someone into
your heart, though you fully realize it will change you.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You’re so busy trying to
serve everyone else that you just may forget all about
what you want out of the situation. Take a breather to
think about it, and possibly even write a list so you
don’t accidentally leave yourself out.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Things are done a
certain way, but the norms go out the window when
someone special contributes. You’ll be that special
person today and the rules will bend to accommodate
your ideas and fresh take.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You have ideas and the guts
to be a leader as well. Speak up and you’ll gain support.
Your exceptional intuition about people will be tested. It
is possible that the one who is charming and flattering is
also sincere at heart.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Talented people cannot
always bridge the social gap in a way that lets them share
their talents. You will use your social gifts to help someone
connect and navigate a world that would be very difficult
for them, if not for your guidance.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). A conflict between
your head and your heart can be mediated by the imaginary
judge of your conscience. Set the stage for a negotiation in
your mind. Introduce the topic, then sit back and observe
the discussion that follows.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Success is simple.
You determine the goal then do the work. You may be
worried about doing things right, but there is no right way,
only a wrong way: going in circles. Consistently move in
one direction and you’ll get there.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). When others worry,
you can clearly see how unnecessary it is, but of course it’s
difficult to have objectivity with your own worries, which
seem somehow much more valid. Choose optimism.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). It’s not your style to
make many demands, so when you do make requests,
people really listen to you. You’re not just thinking about
you. You’re thinking about the bigger picture and what
might be helpful for all going forward.
TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 27). Share the way you see
the world and what you want it to look like too, and people
will help fulfill the vision. The more specific you are about
how you want to spend your time, the more fun you’ll have.
More highlights: you’ll get your way in a dispute and be
rewarded with what you ask for. A long shot will come
through, also romantic travel. Sagittarius and Pisces adore
you. Your lucky numbers are: 1, 3, 33, 26 and 9.
