Magazine ENTERPRISE — Antique and classic cars are rolling into the county this week- end for Enterprise’s Main Street Show and Shine Aug. 19 and 20. Registration begins Friday, Aug. 19, 9 a.m. at Main Street Motors, corner of Main and Depot streets. At noon, a cruise to Imnaha Store and Tavern begins in the parking lot behind Joseph’s Market Place Fresh Foods on the Imnaha Highway. Raffl e winners will be announced at the Imnaha Tavern for prizes of $100, $75 and $50. Visitors and local car show enthusiasts are invited to come to the Elks Lodge, open from 4:30-9 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 20, registration continues at Main Street Motors starting at 7 a.m. as well as parking for the show and shine. From 7-10 a.m. the Elks cook breakfast in front of Main Street Motors. The nation- al anthem, as well as a fl ag ceremony by VFW Post #4307, are at 9 a.m. The Show and Shine runs until 3 p.m., with the award announcements beginning at 2:30 p.m. and emceed by Brett Hayes. Doug Crow of Main Street Motors said Stein Distillery has its own award as well as the Wortman Family Ranch that spon- sors the award to the best of the Wallowa County entries. “About half of our 100 to 120 entries are local,” Crow said. The Show and Shine raises money for local organizations — the 50/50 raffl e usually generates more than $1,000, Crow said. Half goes to the winner and the other half goes to food banks in Wal- lowa and Enterprise. The Show and Shine also supports the Elks National Foundation’s “Most Valuable Student Program.” Funds raised pay for scholarships awarded to local high school seniors.
