Memory Cruise returns to Baker City DURKEE STEAK FEED A steak feed that started as a tradition with ranchers in Durkee now happens in Baker City, at Quail Ridge Golf Course during the annual Memory Cruise. This year’s steak feed is Saturday, Aug. 20, , 4-7:30 p.m. The meal features steak, of course, plus plenty of sides and the famous Durkee pan-fried bread. Tickets are $27 for a steak plate, or $7 for a hot dog plate. By Lisa Britton Go! Magazine BAKER CITY — For the fi rst time since 2019, classic cars will fi ll Geiser-Pollman Park and cruise downtown streets. The 30th annual Baker City Memory Cruise returns Saturday, Aug. 20. “We hope to get 150, 175 cars,” said Wayne Ryder, who has organized the event for years with Dan Haberman. Jeron Simmons is also helping, and plans to continue the tradition in the future. Ryder is not too worried that the price of gas will keep people away. August 19th at Churchill School “There’s more to life than gas mileage,” he said. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and contin- ues through 10 a.m. at Geiser-Pollman Park. There’s no need to pre-register. Entry is $15. “Show up, park your car and sign up,” Ryder said.
