Chase St., Heppner, reported two or three juveniles were under the nearby bridge and using marijuana. She left this Earth peacefully on July 23, 2022, with her children beside her, holding her hand. Sherri was born in Everett, Washington, on March 25, 1959, to Nancy (Dagg) and Duncan Clark. She had the upbringing of a Navy brat, and was raised in Wisconsin, Washington, Hawaii and California. Sherri graduated from Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, California, in 1977. Sherri loved to cook for her family, and every holiday season she would bake hundreds of Christmas cookies for all her family and friends. She lived life to the fullest, and overcame many challenges that came her way. She loved and valued her family. She would stay up for hours, sitting at the kitchen table with an open ear and a loving heart for her loved ones, and those she considered her adopted family. Sherri was kind to everyone, and always felt her greatest achievement was her children. Sherri is survived by her son, Victor <Sport= Clark (Audra); daughter, Ashley <Angel Cake= Mitcham (Taryn); grandchildren, Kailee, William, Addyson, Jack, Mila and Miles; sisters, Nancy and Theresa Clark; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Linda Rae Gustin August 3, 1943 - July 27, 2022 Linda Rae Gustin passed away on July 27, 2022, after battling brain cancer. Linda Rae Schuening was born Aug. 3, 1943, in Pendleton, Oregon, to the parents of Roy and Rosemary (Hudemann) Schuening. She was the second child, followed by four more siblings. She attended Hawthorne grade school, Helen McCune Jr. High and Pendleton High School, graduating in 1961. After graduation, she attended Phagans Beauty school to pursue a career as a beautician that spanned over 50 years in the Pendleton area. In 1964, she married Ray Thompson and had three children Lori, Lana and Rick later divorcing in 1980. On Feb. 13, 1989, she married Paul <Gus= Gustin in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and celebrated 22 years of marriage before his passing in 2011. Linda was baptized and a conormed member of Peace Lutheran Church, and until recently, a member of the church9s council. Linda joined the local widow and widowers9 group (WW) after the passing of her husband and enjoyed many of their outings and friendships. She was elected president of Tuesday at Two (T.A.T). This group was started by her aunt back in 1940 and continues today. After relocating to Walla Walla, she become an active volunteer at the senior center preparing lunches for Meals on Wheels. Those of us that knew Linda could always count on her to have a project or two that she was involved with that included wall papering or painting, her motto <get9er done!= Linda enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports. The many different activities included football, basketball, baseball, volleyball and softball. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, Lori Yokom (Ken), Lana Kline (Doug), and Rick Thompson (Mandy); grandchildren include Jamie Sawyer, Kori Hibbard, Lisa Smith , John Kline, Hailey Kline, Maeve Thompson and Hank Thompson and seven great- grandchildren. Siblings include Rosanne Goade (Lynn), Robert Schuening (Irene), Marla Dufoeld (Brian), Judy Schuening and Ron Schuening (Wendi), along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wants to especially thank her Walla Walla Community Hospice care team of RN Susan and CNA Katie who provided excellent care for Linda. Thelma Colleen Echanis January 9, 1930 - July 30, 2022 Thelma Colleen Echanis of Pendleton, Oregon, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022, while living at Ashley Manor in Hermiston under the care and comfort of Good Shephard Hospice. She was born in Pendleton, Oregon, on Jan. 9, 1930, to Carmen and Helen Oliver. She graduated from Pendleton High School in 1948. She then attended Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. In 1950, she married Lloyd Purcell. They had two children, Bruce and Kim Purcell. Her husband Lloyd passed away in 1970. She worked for doctors Broun and Calhoun as well as a secretary for John Murray Junior High School. After that, she moved to Portland, Oregon, working for Blue Cross until returning to Pendleton a couple of years later. In 1977, she married Andres <Andy= Echanis, who later passed away in 2012. She had a love for volunteer work. She assisted in the gift shop at Pendleton Community Hospital and Pendleton Bargain Counter for many years. She enjoyed horseback riding and was a member of the Mustanger Riding Club. She had a love for animals growing up. In later years, she enjoyed spending time with girlfriends in the community playing bridge and socializing. She truly enjoyed baking cookies for friends and family, especially for her grandchildren. She was an annual fan of the Pendleton Round-Up and never missed a year of festivities in the community. She loved attending all the events with her family, Let9er Buck! She loved her family dearly and loved when all the grandchildren could get together. She was a wheatland owner and was always thankful to Dave and Shari Dallas for employing her grandchildren during wheat harvest. She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Larry) Hinkle; son, Bruce Purcell, both of Pendleton, Oregon; grandchildren, Jennifer (Gentner) Laib, Krystal (Hinkle) Robbins, Tara, Piper and Keegan Purcell; stepchildren/ grandchildren, Paula (Chris) Rosenberg of Pendleton, Oregon; Carlos Echanis of Portland, Oregon; Sarajane and Andrew Rosenberg, and Sheri (Hinkle) Kilburg. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Pendleton, Oregon. A light lunch and refreshments will be served.
