Serving the Community and
Saving Lives in Morrow County
MCHD ambulance services respond quickly, efficiently and expertly
For nearly three decades, the Morrow County Health District (MCHD) has been
saving lives and serving the people of Morrow County as the county’s sole
provider of ambulance services. MCHD’s paid professionals deliver life-saving
services efficiently and effectively. The district’s ambulance response times are
within minutes and well within protocols.
Whether it’s a life-saving emergency or a transfer, residents and visitors in our
county can take comfort in the fact that, should an emergency arise, the best
help is on the way.
HERE’S HOW WE DO IT
MCHD EMS has seven ambulances covering
Morrow County and dispatches from Boardman,
Irrigon, Heppner and Ione, with a Quick Response
Team in Lexington.
MCHD ambulances respond quickly. In May 2022:
• Boardman: en route less than 1 minute after
dispatch; on scene in under 4.
• Irrigon: en route less than 6 minutes after
dispatch; on scene in under 9.
• Heppner: en route less than 6 minutes after
dispatch; on scene in under 13.
In rare circumstances where more personnel are
needed, MCHD EMS can request assistance from
another agency.
Our EMS Advisory Committee ensures high-quality
services by monitoring response times, reviewing
calls, ensuring proper training and equipment and
recommending service improvements.
Our new model, which will improve response
times even more, will have two EMS personnel on
shift at each location for 12-hour shifts and 24-7
staffing.
In case of multiple emergency calls, we dispatch
ambulances and personnel efficiently from all
locations to ensure coverage is available.
