County Fair invites people
to catch some great music
each night on the Wildhorse
Resort & Casino Main Stage.
The 2022 fair is Aug. 10-13
at the Eastern Oregon Trade
and Event Center, 1705 E.
Airport Road Hermiston.
For the second year in
a row, the opening concert
is free with fair admission.
Petty Fever will take the
stage Wednesday, Aug. 10.
The award-winning group
is a tribute to the late musi-
cian Tom Petty. Fair admis-
sion is available online in

— will perform Thursday,
Aug. 11, and Nashville sing-
er-songwriter Ryan Hurd will
close out fair week on Satur-
day, Aug. 13.
General admission for
the Thursday and Saturday
night concerts is free with
fair admission. Reserved and
premium seating (fi rst fi ve
rows) are available for $12
and $20, respectively — they
do not include fair admission.
Also, Grand Champion
Club Party Pit tickets are
available for $80, which
includes entry for four adults
21 and older. The special
section features standing
room only, a private bar and
a dance fl oor.
A Latino Night Dance is
set for Friday, Aug. 12. The
bands and ticket information
will be announced at a later
date.

Chamber host job
fair
BOARDMAN — More
than two dozen employers
are looking to attract appli-
cants and future employees
Wednesday, June 1, at a job
fair in Boardman.
The Port of Morrow and
Boardman Chamber of
Commerce joined forces to
host the fair at the Port of
Morrow Riverfront Center,
2 Marine Drive N.E., Board-
man. A diverse group of
businesses plan to attend the
event, according to a press
release from the port, includ-
ing Columbia River Health,
Hanley Energy Electrical and
Lamb Weston.
Some companies looking
to hire are off ering on-the-job
training. Sonja Neal, direc-
tor of operations at Colum-
bia River Health, in the press
release said the company
believes in “growing our
own” and provides train-
ing to become certifi ed as a
medical assistant, phleboto-
mist, pharmacy tech, certi-
fied health worker and in
handling medical records.
The Blue Mountain
Community College Work-
force Training Center is
bringing its forklift simulator
to the fair for visitors to try
out. According to the press
release, many employers
within the region are seeking
qualifi ed forklift operators.
The Port of Morrow
Workforce Development
staff is going to be onsite to
help with fi lling out applica-
tions. You can also schedule
an appointment with them for
help with resumes and cover
letters.

The family of David & Francis Dick
would like to thank the community of Hermiston, the Dept.
of Corrections Color Guard, whom presented the American
flag to their son, Chris, the Hermiston Senior Center and
their volunteers, as well as the employees of Two Rivers
Correctional who took the time to celebrate and
share in David's memorial.

Stevie was born in Pendleton
to John and Pat Bledsoe and spent
many years at the Horizon Project
where he was surrounded by loving
friends and staff.
He was an energetic guy with
a great smile, laugh and sense of
humor. He had a great love for
parades, cowboys, cartoons and
looking up at the stars. But his
passion for the sound of a good marching band and the
taste of a great meal was unmatched. He had a magnetic
personality and those who knew him will never forget
him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and younger
brother, Ronnie; and survived by his sister, Sandy; four
nieces, and eight great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Olney Cemetery
on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 1 p.m
Donations in his memory can be made to the Horizon
Project, Inc., which provides programs that support
those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Gerald ‘Jerry’ E. Harrell
June 8, 1938 - May 4, 2022
Gerald “Jerry” E. Harrell passed
away on May 4, 2022, in Grants
Pass, Oregon, at the age of 83.
Jerry was devoted to the Lord,
his family and his friends. He loved
to go to church, hunt, fish and spend
time outdoors. He also loved being
around his family and his friends.
He Is survived by his wife,
Naomi Shires-Harrell, of 49 years;
his children, Gerald Harrell (Seattle, Washington);
Keith Harrell, and wife, Penni (Loveland, Colorado);
Debbie Scott (Stanfield, Oregon); Joe Stephens, and
wife, Wanda (Grants Pass, Oregon); Joy Gutierrez-
Hotchkiss, and husband, Martin (Stanfield, Oregon);
Pauline Sherbahn, and husband, Daniel (Echo,
Oregon); along with multiple grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and
Edith Harrell; his brother, H.L. Lowery; his daughter,
Sherrill Harrell-Stubbs; and his son-in-law, Tony
Stubbs.
Armond Earl Britt
December 31, 1932 - November 18, 2021
Armond Earl Britt, age 88
passed away at his home on No-
vember 18, 2021, at Prineville, Or-
egon. A graveside service will be
held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June
4, 2022, at the Heppner Masonic
Cemetery in Heppner, with a recep-
tion to follow at St. Patrick Catho-
lic Church Parish Hall.
Armond was born in Spray, Or-
egon on December 31, 1932. He
was the youngest of three sons born to Walter and Alta
Britt. Armond served in the United States Army during
the Korean War.
On July 1, 1956, he married Marietta Helms in Spray,
Oregon and in 1957 a son, Stan joined the family, in
1960 Steve came into the family and in 1963 Shannon
finished the family. On March 11, 1968, Armond
married Joan Wagner in Hermiston, Oregon.
Armond was a lifelong log truck driver for Britt
Brothers Trucking which he operated with his brother
Elvin until his retirement in 1997.
Survivors include his three children Stan of Pilot
Rock, Oregon, Steve (Nan) of Prineville, Oregon, and
Shannon (Larry) of Prairie City, Oregon: his beloved 6
grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was pre-
ceded in death by his wife Joan, his parents and brothers
Marvin and Elvin.
