A GRANDE — May is going to the birds again this year
with the full return of the Ladd Marsh Bird Festival set for
May 13-15.
After no festival in 2020 and a scaled-back version in 2021,
this year will be more like previous events, said Steve Cle-
ments.
“This year we’re moving back to a more traditional form of
the festival,” he said.
Clements is on the board for Friends of Ladd Marsh, the
nonprofi t volunteer organization that took over the festival
after the retirement of biologist Cathy Nowak.
The weekend begins Friday, May 13, with a gathering at the
Union County Senior Center, 1504 N. Albany St., La Grande.
From 6-8 p.m., visitors can register and receive a passport for
the festival’s birding stations, as well as register for fi eld trips
and enjoy music and snacks.
