IMNAHA — In celebration of
spring in the canyon, The Imnaha
Store and Tavern presents the
“Into the Hills” music festival on
Saturday, April 30, 3-7 p.m.
Some of Wallowa County’s
fi nest will perform at the down-
town, outdoor stage including
Bart Budwig, Jezebel’s Mother,
The Never Knows, Country
Moonshine, Lyle Witherrite and
E. Wayne Jones.
Camping is available up
the Imnaha Road at the rodeo
grounds and festival attendees
are asked to bring their own
seating to enjoy the performanc-
es. The Tavern will be closing
early that evening, but food,
drinks and souvenirs will be sold
at the festival so it is encouraged
to bring cash to this family-
friendly event.
While the festival is free to the
public, donations are welcome
to help off set the costs of the
musicians, technicians and
equipment. For more informa-

UNION — April 29 brings the
monthly “Last Friday” event at
the Catherine Creek Community
Center, 667 N. Main St.
The stage is open from
5-8 p.m. for an open jam ses-
sion. Concessions, local artists,
crafters and classes will be
located in the community hall.

In this workshop, participants
“will examine the essay as a
natural vehicle for intellectual and
emotional work, both by reading
other writers who do this master-
fully, and looking for opportuni-
ties to do this in our own writing.”
Johnson has an MFA in cre-
ative nonfi ction from Portland
State University, and was a 2021
Fishtrap Fellow. She is an assis-
tant lecturer at the University of
Wyoming in Laramie.
BAKER CITY — The Portland
duo of Hillstomp will play live at
Churchill School, 3451 Broadway
St., on Saturday, April 30. Doors
open at 6 p.m. and the music
starts at 6:45 p.m.
Tickets are $10 in advance
at churchillbaker.com, or $15
at the door. Proof of vaccina-
tion or a negative COVID test is
required. Admission is free for
fully vaccinated youth age 15
and younger who attend with a
ticket-holding adult.

have traveled to Europe 10 times
and played in 38 states.
‘WOMEN PLAYING
HAMLET’ ON STAGE NOW
BAKER CITY — Eastern
Oregon Regional Theatre is
presenting the comedy “Women
Playing Hamlet” during the next
two weekends. The show opens
Friday, April 29, at 2101 Main St.
Show times are 7 p.m. April 29
and April 30, then 3 p.m. May 1.
The next week, shows will be
at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. May 7, and
3 p.m. May 8.
Opening night off ers dis-
counted $12 tickets for adults.
All other shows are priced at
$15 adults, $12 EORT mem-
bers, and $8 students. Tickets
are available online at eastern-
oregonregionaltheatre.com, by
calling 541-523-9652 or may be
purchased at the door.
