Police took a report. 5:10 p.m. — A 911 caller on Birch Creek Road, Pendleton, said a man in a green Ford Ranger was harassing him and came to his residence three times that day. The driver was out of the vehicle when agen- cies fi rst arrived. 1:31 a.m. — A 911 caller at Locust Mobile Home Court, 1571 N. Columbia St., Milton-Freewater, made a report of an assault. A5 DEATH NOTICES Roundhouse Foundation does windows HELIX — The Helix Advancement Partnership Network recently received a boost from the Roundhouse Foundation. A $20,000 grant assisted with a window replacement project at the old Helix Grade School building. The historic structure is home to Helix City Hall, the Helix Public Library and the Helix Histor- ical Museum. According to a press release from Cindy Wood, HAPN treasurer, the fundrais- ing goal for the window-re- placement project is about $166,005 — of that, more than $92,000 has been raised. Since forming in 2004, the nonprofi t group has repaired and replaced the roof, installed new sidewalks and upgraded the furnace. Also, after a fl ash fl ood in 2012 fi lled the basement and grounds with mud and water, HAPN stepped up to assist with significant restoration work to make the facility usable again. More recently, the building has passed an asbestos inspection, had a handicapped-access chairlift East Oregonian the Schwab Charitable Trust ($30,000), the Kinsman Foun- dation ($5,000), the Wild- horse Foundation ($20,000), and raised more than $17,000 in local support, including donations from Mike and Jill Thorne, William Dorran, Harry and Phyllis Schuening, Cliff and Judy Bracher, Janet Wood, Margaret Hale Hude- mann, the Stanton family and Bob, Colleen, Jeff and Shari- lyn Newtson. HAPN is a group of volun- teers whose focus is to help obtain funds to enhance local programs and services in the community. Its purpose is to preserve local history, improve the quality of life and promote the welfare of Helix residents. Box 374, Helix, OR 97835. Sharon Ingram Harrison April 2, 1949 - December 17, 2021 Sharon Ingram Harrison was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother and friend. On Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, she passed away to be with her heavenly father at the age of 72. Sharon was born on April 2, 1949, and was the only child of Dr. Clarence Landrine and Mrs. Mar- garet Cunliff Ingram of Pendleton, Oregon. She met her future husband, Terry Wallace Harrison, while attending Pendleton High School, and graduated with the Pendleton class of 1967. Soon after, she pursued her bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon. Sha- ron was married to Terry in 1969 at the First Presbyteri- an Church of Pendleton, Oregon. Sharon had two children. Her first son, Jon, was born in 1976. The following year, she and Terry moved from Portland, Oregon, to Athena, Oregon, where she established a loving home and pursued her career in pre-school and elementary education. Her second son, Robert (Robb), was born in 1982. Sharon cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving grandmother of three granddaughters and one grandson. Sharon’s Christian faith was central to her person, and she made sure to pass this on to her family and friends. In 1990, Sharon joined her husband in opening and running a Papa Aldo’s Take ‘n’ Bake Pizza fran- chise (now Papa Murphy’s) in Milton-Freewater, Or- egon. They soon opened two more shops in College Place, Washington, and Walla Walla, Washington. In the 32 years she served these communities, her loving smile, attention to service and friendship were apparent to all who knew her. Sharon was an avid traveler, skier, cyclist and en- joyed spending time boating. She spent many late sum- mers planning camping trips with her family to the Or- egon Wallowa Lake State Park. She loved long summer road trips. She was a loving dog-owner, and all but 9 months of her life were spent with a dachshund by her side. Sharon is survived by her husband, Terry; her son, Jon, and his wife, Stacy, of Gresham, Oregon; her son, Robb, and his wife, Meghan, of Milton-Freewater, Or- egon; granddaughters, Emma, Haddie and Libby; and grandson, Jack. She was preceded in death by her par- ents, Clarence and Margaret Ingram. A small private service will be held. He passed away in Hermiston, Oregon, on March 31, 2022, at the age of 86. Donald grew up and attended schools in Terrebonne, Redmond, Tumalo and Irrigon, Oregon. He graduated from Irrigon High School in 1953. He worked as a manager for Pendleton Grain Growers retail store in Hermiston from 1957 until 1987. He then moved to Seaside, Oregon, where he worked for Lyles Garden and Pet from 1990 until 2000. All his life he was involved in breeding, training and showing all types of animals and birds. Donald married Carla Virginia Hill on Feb. 4, 1956, in Irrigon. He is survived by his daughter, Danette Veva Anderson; son, Deeno Ray Leighton; five grandsons, two great-grandsons and one great-grandaughter, six nieces and 10 nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carla, in 2017 and sons, Donald Lee Leighton and Daniel Harold Leighton. No services will be planned.
