Marian Rae Gilbert
September 5, 1965 - February 28, 2022
Marian Rae Gilbert, 56, also
known as Mary or Mother Mary,
passed peacefully at Kadlec Re-
gional Medical Center in Richland,
Washington, on Monday afternoon,
Feb. 28, 2022.
Born in Upland, California,
Sept. 5, 1965, she was the daughter
of the late Kenneth James Gilbert
and Martha George.
After graduating from high school. Mary gave birth
to her first son. Mary had six children of her own, five
boys and one girl. She was born to a big family, and
raised a big family herself. Not only did she raise her
own six kids, but she also took in many children that
needed a home. This is how she became, Mother Mary.
Even though she had a crew of her own, she never want-
ed a child to feel unwanted, unloved, or like they had no
place to go, she always left the doors open.
Aside from raising and spending quality time with
her loved ones; Mary enjoyed being outdoors, scoring
herself a good deal at a yard sale and sewing. She be-
longed to the Assembly of God and had a strong belief
in her faith. Those who knew Mary will remember her
as strong, generous, warm-hearted, quick-witted and
humorous.
Mary leaves behind her sons, Marky, Patrick (Shel-
by) Hernandez, Steven (Allison) Hernandez, Donald
(Ashley) Hernandez, Thomas Sanders; daughter, An-
gel Villalobos, all of Pendleton Oregon; her partner,
John Gambill; sisters, Bonnie Boyd, Dorothy Gilbert
of Pendleton Oregon; brother, Chuckie Gilbert of Red-
lands California; and her nine beautiful grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by
her brothers, Donald Gilbert, Kenny Gilbert, Clyde Gil-
bert; and sister, Angie George.
A tribute service will be held at Burn Mortuary in
Pendleton, Oregon, on March 11, 2022, at 3 p.m.
In celebration of her life, please join us at Electric
Sundown on March 12, 2022, at 3 p.m. We will be hold-
ing a potluck-style gathering, please bring a side dish
as you wish. We desire everyone to feel welcomed to
celebrate our mother, grandmother, partner and friend.
