HOLIDAY ART CLASSES
SET AT PAINTED SKY
CANYON CITY — Painted Sky
Center for the Arts has several
holiday-themed art classes still
planned for December.
“Sleigh Ride Paint Party” with
Angel Carpenter is happening Sat-
urday, Dec. 11, from 1-3 p.m. Cost
is $40 or $36 members. The class
will use acrylics to paint an 18-inch
wooden sled with runners. There
will be two designs to choose from:
“Snowman Winter Scene” or “O Holy
Night.” Beginners are welcome.
“Poinsettias Paint Party” taught
by Carpenter is set for Thursday,
Dec. 16, from 1-4:30 p.m. Cost is
$40, or $36 for members. Partici-
pants will use acrylics on a 16x20
canvas. Beginners are welcome.
Julie Smucker and Clair Kehrberg
will off er time to make Christmas
tree ornaments on Tuesday, Dec.
14, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Cost is $10
or $9 for members. Students of all
ages can stop by during the three
hours and make a leather Christmas
tree ornament. There will be an as-
sortment of styles to choose from.
Carpenter will lead a paint class
called “Truck and Barn” on Saturday,
Dec. 18, from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $40 or
$36 for members. Participants will
use acrylics to paint a vintage scene
on a 16x20 canvas. Beginners are
welcome, although previous paint-
ing experience is helpful.

THE ARC CHRISTMAS
PARTY IS DEC. 11
HERMISTON — Everyone is
invited to the The Arc Christmas
Party, from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday,
Dec. 11, at The Arc Building, 215 W.

The festive event Includes
refreshments, bingo, caroling,
crafts and a visit from Santa. A gift

THE GRINCH STEALS MOVIE
NIGHT AT SAGE CENTER
BOARDMAN — Movie Night at
the SAGE Center will help jump-start
your holiday spirit.
“How the Grinch Stole Christ-
mas” will be screened Friday, Dec.
17, 6 p.m. at 101 Olson Road, Board-
man. The cost is $5 per person,
which includes entry, popcorn and
bottled water. Children under 5 are
free.
In the 2000 release, viewers get
a glimpse inside a snowfl ake, where
the magical land of Whoville exists.
The PG-rated fl ick features Jim Car-
rey as the Grinch.

FREE CHRISTMAS DINNER
IN PENDLETON
PENDLETON — The Pendleton
Community Action Coalition, Salva-
tion Army, and CAPECO will provide
a free community Christmas dinner
for the Pendleton and CTUIR com-
munities on Saturday, Dec 25, from
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Pendleton
Salvation Army. Tax-deductible do-

MURDER MYSTERY AT THE
UNDERGROUND
PENDLETON — The Pendleton
Underground will ring in the new
year with a murder mystery dinner
event beginning at 7 p.m. on Dec.
31. The Underground is located at
31 SW Emigrant Ave. Tickets are
limited to 55, for ages 21 and older.
The cost is $90 per person, or $75
per person for a couple or larger

CASA PLANS PORCH TOUR
FOR DEC. 11
BAKER CITY — CASA of Eastern
Oregon is organizing a tour of deco-
rated historic porches on Saturday,
Dec. 11. Starting at 1 p.m., maps
with descriptions will be available at
the CASA offi ce, 2024 Main St., and
Crossroads Carnegie Art Center,
2020 Auburn Ave.
Hosts will welcome guests be-
ginning at 2 p.m., and all porches will
have lights on until 6 p.m.
The tour is free, although dona-
tions will be accepted. This event
is the substitute for the Historic

Homes Tour, which has been an an-
nual fundraiser for CASA.
