Gospel quartet
celebrates in song
UMATILLA COUNTY —
The Liberty Quartet is swinging
through the area on a concert tour,
including stops in Milton-Freewa-
ter and Hermiston.
Celebrating more than 25
years in the ministry, the South-
ern gospel group hails from Idaho.
The free performances are Sunday,
Nov. 14:

Ladies Night
BOARDMAN — The SAGE
Center is offering women an

Turkey Day 5K
benefits Agape House
HERMISTON — Jump start
your holiday morning during the
Turkey Day 5K. An event for the
whole family, the race is Thursday,
Nov. 25, 9 a.m. at the Oxbow Trail,
off Northwest 11th Street and West
Elm Avenue Extension, Hermiston.
Registration by Monday, Nov.
15, is $20 for adults and $10 for
youths, which includes a T-shirt.
Proceeds will benefit Eastern
Oregon Mission, parent organiza-
tion of Hermiston’s Agape House.
Money will be used to provide
support to those in need in the
region.

ASTRA scholarships
PENDLETON — Two ASTRA
members of District Twelve
Altr usa International were
selected to receive
ASTR A Inter-
national schol-
arships. They
won at the inter-
national level on
their own merits.
The High
School Scholar-
Schreier
ship of $2,000
was awarded to Sidney Schreier
of Pendleton. Schreier, a 2021
Pendleton High School grad-
uate, intends to attend Queens
University in Kingston, Ontario,
Canada, to study pre-med. She
was the vice president of the local
ASTRA organization and chaired
the ASTRA service committee.
She also was involved in numer-
ous school and community activ-
ities during her high school years.
Camille dela Cruz of Roseburg
won the $1,000 award.
ASTRA is an international
community service organiza-
tion for youth sponsored by local
Altrusa Clubs.

7:59 a.m. — Pilot Rock police responded to a report of a
vehicle theft on West Main Street.
10:12 a.m. — A Walla Walla resident reported the theft
of their vehicle on the 800 block of Northeast Third Avenue,
Milton-Freewater.
11:40 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to a report of a
assault at the intersection of Northwest 13th Street and West
Hartley Avenue.
3:30 p.m. — Pendleton police responded to a report of a
burglary on the 500 block of Southwest Eighth Street.
3:32 p.m. — The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office
responded to a report of a vehicle theft at Western Express,
28810 Stafford Hansel Road, Hermiston.
5:21 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to a report of an
assault on the 300 block of West Theater Lane.
7:51 p.m. — Pendleton police responded to a report of an
assault on the 400 block of Northwest Eighth Street.
3:56 p.m. — Pendleton police responded to a report of an
assault on the 2700 block of Northeast Riverside Avenue.
5:40 p.m. — The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office responded
to a report of a domestic disturbance on Southwest Tutuilla
Road, Pendleton.
TUESDAY, NOV. 9
720 a.m. — A caller reported a fire in a large garbage con-
tainer at Castle Rock Apartments, Boardman, on Tatone Street
Southwest.
11:35 a.m. — A resident on East Coe Avenue, Stanfield,
reported someone entered their home while it was unoccu-
pied and moved items around, but nothing seemed to be
missing.
2:16 p.m. — Oregon State Police responded to a reported
crash near milepost 210 on Interstate 84. The crash occurred
when a sedan swerved off the interstate and rolled. The driver
and a passenger were injured. Medics took the them to CHI St.
Anthony Hospital, Pendleton.
4:21 p.m. — The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office responded
to a report of an vehicle theft on Highway 204, Weston.
9:18 p.m. — A Milton-Freewarer resident on the 100 block
of Southeast Ninth Street reported someone egged their
house. A caller at 9:34 p.m. on the 1200 block of Stonewood
Court, Milton-Freewater reported someone egged their car.
THURSDAY, NOV. 11
11:45 a.m. — Hermiston police responded to two reports
of a burglary on the 800 block of West Orchard Avenue.
4:04 p.m. — Hermiston police responded to a reported
burglary on West Madrona Avenue.
10:50 p.m. — Pendleton police responded to a report of a
burglary on the 500 block of Southeast Third Street.
ARRESTS, CITATIONS
Nov. 8
Pendleton police arrested Brian Allen Palmer, 41, for vio-
lating a restraining order, harassment and felon in possession
of a weapon.
Milton-Freewater police arrested Antonio Gonzalez, 32, for
vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Dean
Summers, 37, for second-degree burglary, unauthorized entry
into a motor vehicle and second-degree theft.
Nov. 9
Hermiston police arrested Andres Chales Lorenzo, 28, for
second-degree child neglect, violating probation and failing
to appear in court.
Nov. 10
Umatilla police arrested Veronica Gutierrez, 42, for
fourth-degree assault and interfering with a law enforcement
report.
Nov. 12
Stanfield police arrested Ridge Christian Matzen, 28,
for violating probation, providing false information to law
enforcement and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
