ECHO OKTOBERFEST
RETURNS OCT. 16
ECHO — After taking a year
off , the Echo OktoberFest is set
for Saturday, Oct. 16, at Echo
Ridge Cellars. The event fea-
tures beer, bratwurst, burgers,
hot dogs, Echo Ridge wines and
activities. Live music starts at
4 p.m. with Margaret Mayer and
Alan Feves, followed at 6:30 p.m.
by the Brass Fire Band.
Admission is $20. Pre-sale
tickets include a $5 bonus to-
ken. Tickets are available at the
event or pre-sales at H&P Cafe,
Echo Ridge Cellars, or Hermis-
ton Branch of Columbia Bank.
Other activities include a
mule-team taxi, tours of the
historical St. Peter’s Church
from 1-4 p.m., a raffl e, silent
auction, and baked goods sale.
Echo Oktoberfest is a fund-
raiser for the Echo Kiwanis, with
funds supporting the St. Peter’s
Church restoration and local
scholarships.

SILENT FILM FEST SET

BAKER CITY — Pianist Keith
Taylor will provide live piano
accompaniment to three silent
fi lms during a festival Oct. 22,
23 and 24 at Eastern Oregon
Regional Theatre, 2101 Main
St. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday
and Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sun-
