HOROSCOPES BY HOLIDAY MATHIS
FRIDAY, MAY 21, 2021 Mercury Upsets the Balance
To lean is to passively push. There’s no other way to do
it. Leaning forces the leaned-on thing in the opposite
direction. That’s why it’s better to lean into only
unwanted things. If your desire is to bring something
close, then try a dance, seduction or some other kind
of pulling motion today, as a Mercurial square upsets
the balance of the Libra moon.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Much has been added
to your life – relationships, responsibilities, interests,
material items – and going forward, you can’t take it
all. It’s, once again, time to decide which endeavors
are worth committing to.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). The old you would
have been eager to define things early on, but you’re
now wondering if it’s necessary or even beneficial.
Definitions are limits. Mysteries are limitless.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). The tendency to go into
debt isn’t limited to finance. In fact, the little debts that
get racked up between people can have a debilitating
effect on relationships. Don’t let anyone get too far in
the hole with you.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). There are those who
will try and convince you of a need that doesn’t exist.
Things only become outdated if there are now other
things that work better. Be careful not to pay to fix a
thing that isn’t broken.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You’ll strengthen your mind/
body/spirit connection, and it all happens with
physical exertion. Every time you work on your body,
it will become increasingly receptive to the command
of your mind and the intuition of your spirit.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You have to set your plan
in action to know where the problems are. Start now
while there are people around you who can help you
do what needs to be done.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Why would anyone willingly
offer up their work for scrutiny? To improve, of course.
Only the courageous and the serious will proactively
take this option, and you are definitely in that group.
You want to be the best.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You don’t have to be
in a position to make a change to dream about your
options. Fantasies are supposed to be impractical.
Think of it as shopping for your future with no
obligation to buy.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). The line between
sharing and oversharing is liable to be ignored,
blurred or completely crossed. Most people won’t
mind knowing a little more than they need to.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Money is not the
root of all evil; evil is! Money is just a sophisticated
bartering system that can be used for purposes as
varied as the people who advance them.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). When you care, you
care deeply. When you notice, you notice a lot. What’s
going on around you will be as exciting and thought-
provoking as your commitment level to it.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). As for mental arguments
that only you can hear, they do serve a purpose. You’ll
work out the pros and cons of a decision before you
ever take the risk. Contain your deliberations inside a
time frame though, or they’ll steal your day.
TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (MAY 21). All you’ve overcome
has made you strong – and also funny! Humor comes
from the flexibility of perspective you earned seeing
different sides and extremes of life. A project will put
your talents to good use, and you’ll be enthusiastically
endorsed, too, helping you to move up professionally
and financially. Aquarius and Pisces adore you. Your
lucky numbers are: 21, 1, 7, 9 and 13.

SATURDAY, MAY 22, 2021 Mercury, Neptune and Monsters
As the cartoons teach us, a monster can come in
many forms: scary, friendly, funny, pathetic, human
and more. With all the variations, how do you
differentiate a monster from your garden-variety
everyday creature? The Mercury and Neptune square
promises this about the monster on the scene: You’ll
know it when you see it.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Success in one area of
life won’t automatically bring success in other areas,
but certain basic principles will apply universally.
The work is best chunked down into small steps and
mastered in order.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). No one comes into their
own doing whatever everyone else does. As long as
you are deeply satisfied by the work you are doing, it’s
OK if you don’t fit in. In fact, it’s a good sign.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). There’s a time to keep
score, and a time to indulge and share without
worrying the least bit about who gave what.
Scorekeeping turns giving and receiving into a job or
a game instead of a spiritual act or a pure pleasure.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Anything you do to
develop and learn about yourself, you do for your
relationships. This is why you don’t have to be in a
relationship to be working on one.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). The umbrella of indifference
may keep you dry, but it also obscures your view of
the sky. The emotional weather is mild today, making
it a good time to lower your protections and feel the
cool rain of possibility on your cheeks.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). It doesn’t matter what
the “it” is; what matters is how much you’re willing
to focus on it. Could you focus on it to the exclusion
of anything opposing? Could you focus on it to the
exclusion of anything at all?
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You’ll give and hold out
hope that your charity is going to a good place. Don’t
worry. In today’s case, the real benefit happens inside
your heart as you hand it over. The rest is gravy.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). The real deals happen
face to face – that exciting place where all the risk
is right there and you never do know what the other
person might do or say. Artful conversation will
separate the amateurs from the pros.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You’ll reach a
turning point in your work. Pause here a while to really
consider the options. Once you pick a direction, its
reversal, though not impossible, will be awkward and
time-consuming.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). While you’d rather go
into a game with a strategy, those require time you
won’t have today. So, the best strategy will be to stay
on high alert for clues and trust your instincts.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You possess qualities
that seem so indelibly you, yet new styles of being are
still a possibility. After all, in the stretch since your first
breath, you’ve already been many people and more
incarnations will unfold.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Maybe life is fair; maybe
it’s not. No single person is objective or omniscient
enough to know. But things don’t have to be fair to be
good. An unjust moment will be, in the end, a glorious
gift.
TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (May 22). A rebellious spirit
pervades. The rules you break will liberate you. You’ll
attract investors. The money helps you get a project
off the ground, but there’s even more value in the
time and lessons you gain. To repeat this success will
bring you exponentially more, so take careful notes,
pay attention and be methodical. Libra and Sagittarius
adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 44, 38, 5 and
32.
