Traveling Lantern Theatre
Company will bring “The
Story of Ebenezer Scrooge,
or A Christmas Carol” to
Eastern Oregon via a virtual
performance Dec. 6-13, cour-
tesy of the Hermiston Public
Library. The classic tale tells
of a miser’s redemption by
a ghost from his past, who
teaches him the joys of car-
ing for, and giving to, others.
While tickets are free,
registration is required.

awarded Meyer
Opportunity Grant
PORTLAND — Meyer
Memorial Trust announced
150 Annual Funding Oppor-
tunity grants, totaling $21.3
million, to organizations
working to create a more equi-
table and flourishing Oregon.
The grants will support orga-
nizations that work with and
grow communities that have
long experienced disparities.
The Confederated Tribes
of the Umatilla Indian Reser-
vation in Pendleton received
a $300,000 grant to rede-
velop the Lucky 7 manufac-
tured home park with new,
high-efficiency homes on the
reservation.
Meyer redesigned its
grants program five years
ago and has since focused on
investments that break down
inequities through local and
statewide policy and systems
change. Last fall, in its 2019
Annual Funding Opportunity,
Meyer awarded 142 grants,
totaling $17.5 million.

announces 2020
dividend
HEPPNER — The Board
of Directors of BEO Ban-
corp voted recently to declare
a $0.95 per share dividend for
2020. The dividend will be paid
to shareholders of record as of
Dec. 8, payable on or before
Dec. 15, according to a press
release.
Board Chairman Joe Gon-
zales Jr. said BEO Bancorp has
paid a dividend to sharehold-
ers in 34 of the past 35 years,
and the 2020 dividend is an
increase from the prior year

share compares to a $0.90 div-
idend paid in 2019, an increase
of 5.55%,” said President and
