“Troop Zero” (2020)
On Friday, Jan. 17, catch this hi-
larious and inspiring film when it
comes to Prime Video. McKenna
Grace (“Gifted,” 2017) stars as
“human-female” Christmas Flint,
an abnormal young girl living
in Georgia in the late ‘70s who
dreams of life in outer space. When
she finds out that NASA will be
recording a message for the Voy-
ager spacecraft at the Birdie Scout
Jamboree, she is desperate to be a
part of it, but she can’t since she’s
not a Scout and the local troop
won’t let her join. She creates her
own troop of outsiders, starting
with her best friend, Joseph (Charlie
Shotwell, “Eli,” 2019), even though
he’s a boy (there’s nothing in the
rule book that says you have to be
a girl). Hilarity ensues as the two
troops and their leaders — the
laid-back Miss Rayleen (Viola Davis,
“How to Get Away with Murder”)
and the pretentious Miss Massey
(Allison Janney, “Mom”) — clash
as they fight to qualify for the
jamboree and prove that there’s
nothing wrong with being different.

Leo (Tyler Sanders, “The Reli-
ant,” 2019), and their neighbor,

the cookbook and receiving
some help getting started from
the previous protectors, Zoe,
Leo and Ish realize the book is
guiding them on an adventure
through the city to find coins
that will unlock a mystery recipe
with incredible powers. But,

of this magical Amazon Original
while they work to keep the
cookbook safe and unlock the
mystery, they face many ob-
stacles, including a descendent
of the evil protectors who also
happens to be the most popular
kid in school. Make sure to watch
this magical series that is fun for
the whole family.
Russell Peters in “Russell Peters: Deported”
Russell Peters returns to the world
of standup comedy for the first
time since 2016 in his new special
“Deported,” premiering Friday,
Jan. 17. The Toronto-born, Anglo-
Indian comedian is known for his
off-side commentary and mockery
of various cultures — especially
his own. If you’re unfamiliar with
his work, the title of his second
comedy special from 2008, “Red,
White and Brown,” may serve as
an indication of what you’re in
for. Filmed in his father’s home-
land, Mumbai, India, “Deported”
features Peters’ commentary on
his life as a father, dealing with
relationships and the health is-
sues that come with middle age.
Throughout his 30 years as a
comedian, Peters has amassed nu-
merous film and television credits,
and has produced five comedy
specials that have turned into
world tours, making this his sixth.

Best known for his role as Rob
Norris in the Prime Original
series “Catastrophe,” Emmy
Award nominee Rob Delaney is
set to premiere his new comedy
special “Jackie” on Friday, Jan.
17. Since his first special “Rob
Delaney: Live at the Bowery Ball-
room” in 2012, Delaney has had
cameos in numerous television
shows and films (one of the most
notable being 2018’s “Deadpool
2,” in which he played the re-
markably average Peter) as well
as starring roles in the aforemen-
tioned “Catastrophe” and the
powerful 2019 film “Bombshell.”
In this new special, Delaney is
scathingly honest and hilarious
as he discusses the chaos of his
life in London, England, whether
it’s discussing the rise of sexbots
or dealing with the antics of
his three children. Make sure to
catch this comedy special when
it comes to Prime this Friday.
