Assistant coaches: Dan Durfey, Lorenzo Sanchez. 2018-19 season: “Last year, our girls spent the season focusing on fundamentals, being comfortable with the new coaching staff, and working on rebuilding our program,” Davis said. Coach Davis’ outlook: My coaching staff and I are exciting for this upcoming season. We have more numbers than we did last year, which will be a huge help. We also have a great group of returnees that have experience, as well as a great group of newcomers that bring a lot of skills to the team. Assistant coaches: Chad Wunsch, Tim Reger, Curt Sloan. 2018-19 season: The TigerScots finished 4-19 overall and 2-10 in Blue Mountain Conference action. Returning starters: Blair Rudolph, sr., G; Theo White, so., G/F; Blaine Peal, so., G; Aiden Wolf, so, G. Other key returners: Kellen McGill, sr., F; Haden Ball, sr., G. Impact newcomers: Levi Phillips, so., G; Ben Hubbard, fr., F. Coach’s outlook: “We have a very young team,” Pickard said. “We will rely on the three seniors for leadership. The three soomore starters started as freshmen, so they have quite a bit of experience. We will not be very big, but have some very good athletes. UMATILLA BOYS BASKETBALL Coach: Scott Bow, 3rd Season. Assistant coaches: Jon Garrett, Shann West, Robert Turner. 2018-19 season: Umatilla finished the season with a 19-8 record, falling to Sutherlin in the state play-in game on the road. Returning starter: Andrew Earl, sr. He averaged 12.8 points a game and was a first-team All-EOL selection. Other key returners: Oscar Campos, so. Key newcomers: Chris Self, jr., Ty Cranston, jr., Ramiro Alvarez, so., Edwin Ortiz, so. Coach Bow’s outlook: This year we are reloading to a younger, shorter athletic group. We are moving many athletes up from a group of kids that were part of a very successful JV team that will fill the many roles we lost from last year’s squad.
