A10 East Oregonian Saturday, November 30, 2019 Beginning on November 25, 2019 #GSGivesBack! We’re giving back to our community and we’d love your help. #GSGivesBack MONDAY NOVEMBER 25: Partridge in a Pear Tree TUESDAY NOVEMBER 26: Turtle Doves WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 27: French Hens Today calls for a partridge for your pear tree. Partridges are tough catches, you see. The bird flew the coop, leaving nothing behind but some sweet Bartlett pears, the very best kind. Please bring non- perishable food items today. There might be turtle doves coming your way; but we want to avoid hands as cold as clay. So instead of searching for turtle doves, we ask that you bring in some gloves (or mittens) today. The three French hens have to clean their nest to help it look the very best. Please bring cleaning supplies such as laundry/dish soap and paper products today! THURSDAY NOVEMBER 28: FRIDAY NOVEMBER 29: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 30: Calling Birds Golden Rings Geese a Laying Four calling birds speak highly of you; you’re kind and thoughtful, generous too. We don’t like to grovel, but could you please bring us a great novel? Please bring in books for all ages today. Five golden rings would be the normal gift, but we would like to try a twist. Please help us with Santa’s list by bringing new, unwrapped children’s toys today! Six geese a laying were an interesting sight, till one of them squawked and they all took to flight. When they left their nest, it was in the dark of night. So please help us with their terrible plight. Please bring in personal care items today. SUNDAY DECEMBER 1: MONDAY DECEMBER 2: TUESDAY DECEMBER 3: Swans a Swimming Maids a Milking Ladies Dancing Remember no speaking or you’ll spoil the fun. We’re almost there, we’re halfway done. Finding swans in December sure gave us a riddle, so we looked for something simple: Little bums can be breezy, but bringing diapers is just so easy. Please bring in packages of diapers today. On the eighth day of giving, we are still busy as bees. Eight maids a milking, nowhere did we see…But there at the Hermiston Warming Station we spy a few needs. Snacks, blankets, and hats, for these items they surely would be pleased. Please bring in non-perishables, portable food, blankets, and other warm items. Nine kiddos dancing, they put on quite a show. Their feet got so tired, so wouldn’t you know. We are requesting some socks or shoes to help comfort their little toes. WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 4: THURSDAY DECEMBER 5: FRIDAY DECEMBER 6: Lords a Leaping Ten lords a leaping would be an awesome gift, but they got stuck jumping over a big ole snowdrift. But, we do have some pets in need, at the local humane society. Please bring pet food or supplies today. Pipers Piping Eleven pipers piping outside would be cold, to leave them on the doorstep would be too bold. We are hoping you could be an angel for two more days, we’d just love to sing your praise.
