works shows are featured in area
towns to help celebrate Thursday’s
Fourth of July holiday.
While some organizations host
a single activity, some feature full
day festivals. Unless otherwise
noted, events listed are Thurs-
day, July 4 with most offering
free admission with some activi-
ties charging a fee. Independence
Day events in local communities

Independence Day Parade

Free. Starts at Pendleton City
Hall, travels east on Dorion Ave-
nue to Main Street, then west on
Court Avenue to the Pendleton

gearing up for some special
events during the month of
July.
There is no admission
charge for the Free First
Saturday — that’s July 6
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The
museum is located at 108
S.W. Frazer Ave., Pendleton.
The upcoming Terrific
Tuesday will feature a pre-
sentation by Sam Pambrun
and Dave Welch. They will
highlight the Whitman Mis-
sion Route of the Oregon
Trail. The free program is

And on Saturday July
20, Quilts of Valor partic-
ipants will display some
of their creations at the
museum. In addition, the

plans 50-year
reunion
HERMISTON — Mem-
bers of the Hermiston High
School class of 1969 are

word about plans for their
upcoming 50-year reunion.
The event is set for Sept.
27-28. Activities include a
Friday meet-and-greet, with
the location to be announced
— organizers are hoping
the Union Club will be open
and available by then. The
Saturday schedule includes
a continental breakfast and
tour of Eastern Oregon
Trade and Event Center, and
an evening catered meal at
Maxwell Siding Event Cen-
