ROCK & ROLL CAMP XIV MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM EACH DAY CONCERT ON MAIN STREET - FRIDAY @ 7:00 PM Questions? Here are some answers to the questions we get most. If you don’t find your answer, please send us an email or give us a call. WHO CAN COME? Rock & Roll Camp is open to anyone 13-18 years old. Pick up a registration form online at pendletonarts.org, or at 214 N Main St in Pendleton. Not 13 yet? Come watch the camp concert. Over 18? We always need volunteers! Contact the Arts center to ask about how you can help. WHAT WILL I DO AT ROCK & ROLL CAMP? Most people put together bands. They work on learning or getting better at their instruments and writing and performing original music. Other campers take photos, interview musicians, and write stories about the world of Rock & Roll. When they’re not making or writing about music, campers participate in music-related workshops. The workshops change every year, but you can expect options like Women in Rock, Create a Band Logo or Concert Dance Moves. On Friday everyone performs at a big camp concert on Main St to show off what we’ve been doing all week. WHERE’S IT GOING TO BE? We’ll be at the Pendleton Center for the Arts in downtown Pendle- ton. Find us at 214 N Main St., just across the Main Street Bridge. DO I HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT? Nope. We’ll get you started in making music. Expect to have fun 14 | Pendleton Center for the Arts trying out different instruments in a no-pressure environment. We’ll help you find a band, too. I DON’T LIKE ROCK MUSIC. IS THIS FOR ME? Yes! Our counselors love music - all kinds! - and so do our campers. Expect to hear country, jazz, funk, pop, rap, experimental, etc. all happening under one roof. I’M NOT INTO PLAYING MUSIC OR BEING ON STAGE. IS THIS FOR ME? Do you like writing, designing, photography, and/or meeting and talking to people? Our Rock Journalism Team documents camp in a printed publication that gets distributed at the concert, all without ever having to step foot on stage. HOW MUCH IS THIS GOING TO COST ME? Not a penny. Rock & Roll Camp is absolutely FREE, including a sweet free camp t-shirt. Plus, lunch is provided, thanks to generous donations from local businesses. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET READY? Like us on Facebook. Just search “Rock & Roll Camp” to find us. This is your spot to talk with other campers, post links to songs and add pictures and videos from past.
