5:03 p.m. — Hermiston
police took a criminal mis-
chief complaint on Northeast
Sixth Street.
5:47 p.m. — A Heppner
caller reported a person was
peeping into vehicles at
Southeast Green and Matlock
streets.
6:06 p.m. — A driver head-
ing west on Interstate 84 near
Boardman reported another
vehicle ran him off the road.
He said he was “pretty shook
up” and his shoulder was sore.
6:58 p.m. — A mother at
Riverview Mobile Home Park,
1370 Highway 730, Irrigon,
reported her daughter threat-
ened to kill her. The Mor-
row County Sheriff’s Office
responded and gave the
daughter a ride out of town
for the evening.
9:11 p.m. — The Morrow
County Sheriff’s Office and
Irrigon Ambulance Service
responded to an Irrigon home
for a person who cut their
arm. The ambulance took the
patient to Good Shepherd
Medical Center, Hermiston.

and female were trying to set

Activities include bounce
houses, a bungee run, a velcro

Family Friday Night is
Friday, Dec. 28 from 5:30-
7:30 p.m. at the Hermiston
Community Center, 415 S.
Highway 395. The cost is $15
for ages 16 and older, $10 for
ages 2-15 or $30 for a fam-
ily of four (additional kids are
$8 each). Children must be
accompanied by a guardian.

encouraged to reserve a spot.

Health career camp
announces early
deadline
LA GRANDE — High
school students interested in
pursuing a career in the health
care field are encouraged to
attend a special summer camp.
Based at Eastern Ore-
gon University in La Grande,
the MedQuest Health Career
Exploration Camp assists stu-
dents in jump-starting a future
career in the health care field.
Current high school students
will participate in individu-
alized job shadows, listen to
panel discussions by medical
professionals, go on ambu-
lance ride alongs and possibly
watch a surgical procedure.
The early application dead-
line is Sunday, Dec. 30. Cost
for the June 16-21 camp is
$400, which includes dorm
housing. An application
deposit of $25 is required.
Scholarships are available.
Approximately 35 students
from across the state will be
selected to participate. Many
past campers have gone on
to pursue careers as doctors,
nurses, dentists, physical ther-
apists and other health care

Ozark Hippie
displays artwork at
library
HERMISTON — A cur-
rent display at the Hermiston
Public Library features the art-
work of Kim La Plant. The
Hermiston woman, who grew
up in the Ozarks, goes by the
moniker Ozark Hippie.
Also, due to upcoming hol-
idays, the library will have
shortened hours — from
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — on Christ-
mas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
