Coming on the tail of Black Friday, the Hermis- ton Community Center will open its doors to host more than 40 vendors. The Herm- iston Christmas Bazaar is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 415 S. Highway 395. There is no admission charge. A variety of vendors will offer unique gift items, such as wood/metal art, orna- ments, baked items, home- made cheeses, lotions, quilts, wooden vintage items, doggie treats and more. In addition to shop- ping throughout the day, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, call 541-667-5018. And next weekend, the SAGE Center is the place to be as they host the annual Winter Market. It features boutique clothing, home- made gifts, home decor, beauty products, jewelry, specialty items and more. The Winter Market opens with a Ladies Night Out Friday, Nov. 30 from 4-7:30 p.m. at 101 Olson Road, Boardman. It includes door prizes, live music and refreshments. A fundraiser for the retired educators group, money is disbursed through grants to local teachers to fund classroom projects. Special Olympics celebrates bowling season HERMISTON — A medal cere- mony to recognize participants of the Nov. 10 Hermiston/Pendleton Spe- cial Olympics Local Program #510 bowling competition is planned. CAPECO seeks input on older adults, people with disabilities PENDLETON — People are invited to provide input on the Area Agency on Aging Area Plan. Community Action Program of East Central Oregon (CAPECO) is hosting several public meetings to accept comments, including one in Pendleton. The local meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 9-10 a.m. at CAPECO, 721 S.E. Third St., Suite D, Pendleton. The area plan describes the activ- ities of the agency and its efforts to identify the needs of older adults, adults with disabilities and their caregivers. Residents are encour- aged to attend and provide feedback to help CAPECO improve senior programs in Umatilla, Morrow and the surrounding counties.
